Amgat 60 mg/400 mg Tablet is a prescription medicine that effectively treats respiratory tract infection. It manages the symptoms of excessive coughing by loosening the mucus (cough). It also helps in killing the infection-causing microorganisms. Amgat 60 mg/400 mg Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. The most common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain, and allergic reaction. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Introduction

In Respiratory tract infection Amgat 60 mg/400 mg Tablet helps treat respiratory tract infection by killing the bacteria causing infection. It also helps to loosen thick mucus, making it easier to cough out. This reduces congestion or stuffiness and helps in easy breathing. This medicine usually starts to work within a few minutes and the effects can last up to several hours. Along with medications, drink enough lukewarm water and gargle with warm salt water to feel better.

Amgat 60 mg/400 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Ambroxol and Gatifloxacin which treat respiratory tract infection associated with excessive mucus (phlegm). Ambroxol is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Gatifloxacin is an antibiotic that kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. Addition of Ambroxol enhances the antibacterial effect of Gatifloxacin.

How to use

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Amgat 60 mg/400 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time. Avoid Amgat 60 mg/400 mg Tablet with dairy products such as milk, cheese, curd, butter, paneer and ice cream.
